Regeneratieve Injectietherapieën zoals Prolotherapie en Platelet Rich Plasma zitten steeds meer in de lift. Op congressen spreekt men steeds meer hierover, er is een explosie van cursussen en opleidingen en in ons kleine landje begint het interesse ook steeds meer te groeien.
Hier is één verklaring voor.
Het volume van wetenschappelijk onderzoek op deze onderwerpen groeit elke maand.
Wat veel artsen al jaren uit ervaring weten wordt nu stukje bij beetje onderbouwd door de wetenschappelijke literatuur. De ultieme lakmoesproef.
Ik weet nog tijdens een lezing tijdens mijn opleiding in Amerika toen een van mijn favoriete docenten Dr. Björn Eek (met >40 jaar ervaring als orthopedisch chirurg) zei:
“Prolotherapy has stood the test of time and I believe it will reach mainstream medicine within 10 years.”
Toen moest er iemand in de zaal hard lachen en riep sarcastisch “Yeah Right!”
Begint er steeds meer op te lijken dat Dr. Eek het waarschijnlijk wél “right” had.
